At WBC, we deliver training called Safe Churches to equip all staff and volunteers to minister in a way that will ensure the safety of children, youth, and vulnerable people.
We have a high expectation that every single person, staff or volunteer, is committed to the safety and protection of those most vulnerable in our midst.
We believe that every person is valuable to God and we believe that it is
our God-given responsibility to make WBC a safe place, with safe processes.

Our church is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children, young people and vulnerable adults and will endeavour to provide a safe and supportive environment for them by the following safeguarding measures: Recruitment processes (screening, selection, interviews etc.), Working With Children Check, Training, Induction, Supervision and Reviews.

WBC staff and volunteers are responsible for keeping a professional role with children and vulnerable people. This means establishing and maintaining clear boundaries which serve to protect everyone from misunderstandings.
Werribee Baptist Church is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information which the organisation collects, holds and administers. Personal information is information which directly or indirectly identifies a person.
Werribee Baptist Church is committed to protecting the safety of all people who participate in our programs, ministries and events.
Our policy has been developed to uphold this commitment to safeguarding and to adhere to National and State legislation.
All WBC leaders must report disclosures or suspicions of sexual, emotional or physical abuse (towards any child or vulnerable adults) to the appropriate statutory authorities, as soon as possible and in accordance with legislative requirements.
In the event of an allegation or report being received about potential or actual harm to a child or other vulnerable person, this form should be completed and given to your Safe Church Concerns Person (email to safechurch@werribeebaptist.org.au), who will follow up as appropriate.
To being serving at WBC, all expressions of interest must complete this Safe Ministry Check form as part of the application process.
The Working With Children Check is a screening process for assessing or re-assessing people who work with or care for children in Victoria.
All volunteers at Werribee Baptist Church are required to have a valid WWCC.
