Have you ever thought about what anxiety might be telling you? It’s easy to see anxiety as something negative—a sign that we’re not trusting God enough or that we’re failing in some way. But what if, instead of viewing anxiety as a weakness, we saw it as an invitation to draw closer to God?

Jesus faced anxiety, too. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He was deeply troubled, even to the point of sweating drops of blood. Yet, instead of running from His anxiety, Jesus turned to God. He didn’t let His troubled heart push Him away from His Father; He allowed it to lead Him closer to the purpose for which He came.

We often think that being anxious means we lack faith, but what if our anxiety is pointing us toward what truly matters? Jesus said, "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me" (John 14:1, NLT). He wasn’t saying that having anxiety means we don’t believe; rather, He was inviting us to bring our troubled hearts to Him, to trust in Him even when we’re anxious.

Instead of letting anxiety dictate our actions or drive us further into stress, we can let it guide us back to God. When we feel anxious, it’s an opportunity to pause, reflect, and ask ourselves what’s really going on. What are our hearts trying to tell us? And how can we bring these concerns to God?

Imagine what it would be like if, whenever anxiety crept in, we saw it as a gentle nudge from God to lean on Him more, to trust Him more deeply. Our anxiety could become a reminder of our need for God’s presence and peace, turning our focus away from our fears and toward His love and care.

So here’s a challenge: the next time you feel anxiety creeping in, don’t ignore it or let it overwhelm you. Instead, take a moment to stop and ask yourself, “What is this really pointing me to? How can I let this draw me closer to God?” Let your anxiety become a signal to connect with God, to seek His peace, and to find reassurance in His presence.

We’re all in this together. As a community, we have the chance to support one another in turning our anxieties into moments of deeper connection—with God and with each other. Let’s embrace this journey together, trusting that God is with us every step of the way.
